Certification Terms and Conditions - North America

The following information applies to certification conducted by NDT-CGI on behalf of a client.

The employer is ultimately responsible for certification of NDT candidates and must posses a procedure for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel.  NDT-CGI can provide a procedure if requested.

  1. Certification takes approximately four hours per method per candidate.  (All candidates can take the written examinations at the same time but each must be given the practical examination individually).
  2. The client shall provide adequate facilities for certification.  Adequate would be such that each candidate has a quiet place to sit and room to write.  Practical examinations require all NDT equipment and facilities necessary to perform the NDT examination.  Alternatively, certification facilities can be arranged by NDT-CGI for an additional fee.
  3. Candidates for certification shall meet the requirements of the employer’s certification procedure.
  4. The client shall furnish NDT equipment used for certification.  Equipment will be evaluated prior to the beginning of the certification process and, if necessary, additional equipment purchases recommended.
  5. The candidate shall appear at the examination with an ink pen with which to take the written exams and a calculator.  Disturbances during the certification process shall be limited to emergencies only.  All cell phones; beepers, etc. shall be turned off during examination.
  6. Candidates must to achieve 70% or greater on each segment of the certification examination and an overall average of 80% to attain certification.
  7. Training is not included in the certification process.  If training is to be administered the fee must be negotiated with NDT-CGI (See Training Terms and Conditions).
  8. Certification certificates will be issued to those candidates successfully completing the certification process.  The employer shall issue these certificates.  NDT-CGI can recommend certificate samples and if requested design and print the certificates.

NDT Training Terms and Conditions

Training Terms and Conditions – North America

The following information applies to training conducted by NDT Consulting Group Inc.

  1. Unless otherwise agreed upon the maximum number of student is eight per course.
  2. Adequate facilities for training shall be provided by the client.  Adequate would be such that each student has a place to sit and room to write.  The client shall furnish a large dry-erase style white board with dry-erase markers.  The training area shall be free from distractions.  Alternatively, training facilities for the classroom portion of the training can be arranged by NDT-CGI for an additional fee.
  3. 40-hour courses require that the students attend class eight hours per day for five days.  The fee is based on five consecutive days of training.  Alternate schedules can be arranged and may incur additional fees.
  4. The client shall furnish NDT equipment used for training.  Equipment will be evaluated prior to the beginning of the course and, if necessary, additional equipment purchases recommended.
  5. The student shall come to class with pen and paper with which to take notes.  Disturbances during the course shall be limited to emergencies only.  All cell phones, beepers, etc. shall be turned off during class.
  6. Course fees include training books and course literature for up to six (6) students.  Most course information is shown through PowerPoint presentations.  Students are given outlines of this information.
  7. Each student will receive a copy of the appropriate training literature.  The costs of materials in excess of those included in the course fee will be billed to the client.
  8. Students failing to attend the entire 40 hours of training will not receive credit for the course.
  9. Student failing to achieve 70% or greater on the end of course examination will not receive credit for the course.
  10. Course completion certificates will be issued to those students successfully completing the course.
  11. Certification is not typically included in the training course.  If certification exams are to be administered there may be an additional fee which must be negotiated with NDT-CGI (See Certification Terms and Conditions).

Code of Ethics for Members of the
American Society for Nondestructive Testing*

In spirit and in word, this Code of Ethics shall guide the actions of the members of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing. It is the duty of all members to conduct themselves in accordance with the following precepts:

  1. To uphold at all times the reputation of the Society and the dignity of membership therein.
  2. To pursue their professional discipline and activities in a spirit of fairness to all concerned — employer, employees, customers and competitors — consistent with the high ideals of personal honor and integrity.
  3. To refrain from associating themselves with any enterprise that would use their names or that of the Society in any manner countenancing misrepresentation.
  4. To avoid damage directly or indirectly to the professional reputation, prospects or business of another member of the Society.
  5. To advertise only in a professional manner, to avoid using improper or questionable methods of soliciting professional work and to decline any connection with improper patronage.
  6. To inform clients or employers of any business affiliations, interests or connections which might influence their fair judgment.
  7. To treat as confidential their knowledge of any business affairs or technical information of employers, clients or customers and to make no disclosure of such information without their express consent.
  8. To accept financial or other compensation for a particular service from one source only, except with the full knowledge and consent of all interested parties.
  9. To perform their work in the highest professional manner, protecting the life, safety and health of their associates and of the general public.

10.  To contribute to the advancement of nondestructive testing by the interchange of information and experience with others, taking full advantage of the mediums provided by the Society — symposia, conventions and the press.

11.  To encourage and provide opportunity for professional development and advancement of their employees or those under their supervision.

12.  To consider their membership in the Society as affording a distinct opportunity to apply their special talents for the service of mankind.

13.  To refrain from any statements or acts which constitute hostile behavior and any forms of intimidation or harassment of any kind by and between members of ASNT whether sexual, racial, ethnic or religious in origin.

NDT Terms and Conditions - International

Effective January 1, 2010

Terms and Conditions/Fee Schedule – International

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE.  Failure of payment to be deposited in our account by the agreed upon date will result in cancellation of the contract for cause.

Level III Services - US$1000.00/8 hour day

Minimum Charges - 5 days

Travel Time - US$75.00 for every 8 of 24 hours

Courses - US$4800.00 per course plus classroom materials (3 sets of materials included at no additional charge).  Unless otherwise agreed, client must furnish NDT equipment.

Auto Mileage - US$0.75/mile

Meals and incidentals – US Government established MIE (meals and incidentals expense) rate for service area.

Airfare/Lodging/Rental Car/Copy Services/other – Cost + 10% Administrative Fee (administrative charge is not applicable if client provides the above).

Time and charges begin at the office of NDT-CGI or the home location of the contracted NDT Level III.

Pricing for volume work or negotiated fee for services available upon request.

Research time, travel time, report or procedure writing charged at standard hourly rate.

Materials purchased on behalf of the client will be charged to the client at costs plus 10%.

Expenses will be estimated and SHALL be paid in advance with the negotiated fee.  Expense funds exceeding the payment will be refunded not later than 30 days after closing of the expense account.

Items purchased for resale will be billed at retail price plus 10%.
